VDAB

Always-on for VDAB: sustainable work for all

In short

We developed an always-on strategy for VDAB to showcase its versatility. More specifically, we highlight the organisation’s three pillars of learning, (re)orienting, and applying for a job with recognisable and inspiring stories as well as practical tips.

01

The brief

VDAB was looking for ways to broaden its brand association in Flanders. After all, the government agency not only occupies itself with vacancies, but also helps people (re)orient, learn, and apply for a job. So, VDAB is there for everyone in Flanders, but the public isn’t sufficiently aware of its full offer. Time to turn that around.

The story

“Daadkrachtig naar 80”: this VDAB slogan refers to the target of an 80% employment rate by 2030. Yet the public employment service doesn’t want people to get ‘just any job’. They’re after sustainable work. And that requires a sustainable match and insights into one’s strengths and talents.

Showcasing a wide variety of career and growth opportunities, we underscore that VDAB is there for everyone who wants to learn, apply for a job, or (re)orient. Recognisable stories, inspiring testimonies and practical tips encourage the broad target audience to start or continue their search for sustainable work.

The result

From clever career changes to questions that make you think: our social content ensures that everyone in Flanders can make an informed choice for sustainable work – whether they are returning to work after a long absence or want to change jobs.

With formats like “Van A naar B” and “De droomjob”, we bring emotional content. The first format consists of recognisable video testimonials of employees who set out on a new career path thanks to VDAB. With “De droomjob van” we inspire everyone who “wants something else” by highlighting jobs that capture the imagination: carpenter, maintenance mechanic, cook, ...

With our rational formats, “A or B”, “Q&A” and “Da’s duidelijk”, we encourage the target audience to think about their career, skills and knowledge. “A or B” feeds them career dilemmas. “Q&A” introduces them to VDAB’s various courses, workshops and orientation tools in a – you guessed it – question-and-answer format. Finally, “Da’s duidelijk” explains complex processes in a clear way.

And there’s more to come, because VDAB is also going for sustainable work ... with us!
