Our humans are avid media consumers. We’re always keen to know what they’ve read, watched and listened to over the past few weeks, because there’s bound to be good stuff there. Today it’s Eline Stevens’ turn to share her favourites. Get inspired by our copywriter aka brunch-is-life’er.

Read: VeryGoodCopy – Eddie Shleyner
Eline is a fan of VeryGoodCopy, the newsletter in which Eddie Shleyner delivers one “micro lesson” at a time, about copywriting, creativity, storytelling or content marketing. “This is not your typical ‘educational’ newsletter”, Eline says. “Instead, reading VeryGoodCopy feels like having a coffee with the author, while he’s chatting about what he has learned or what inspires him.”
The topics covered in VeryGoodCopy range from creative loneliness to slowing down. Eline: “You can turn to Shleyner to find answers to the most compelling questions, like “How does quantity (writing a lot) affect quality (writing well)?”, “What’s wrong with rounding up numbers?” and “Design or copy: what comes first?” (Spoiler: the idea comes first.)
Unsurprisingly, the newsletter is well-written, but it’s also relatively short. “Perfect for a quick dive between meetings, deadlines and writing sessions,” according to Eline.
Watch: The making of Berlin – BERLIN
In The making of Berlin, theatre company BERLIN blurs the boundaries between fiction and reality. “The idea,” Eline explains, “is to bring Berlin’s complex wartime history to life through the personal story of Friedrich Mohr: the Berliner Philharmoniker’s stage manager during WWII.”
As the performance unfolds, the audience gets a behind-the-scenes on the creative process, from production meetings to interviews, and starts to see how the lines between documentary and fiction begin to fade. Eline found this peek into “the making of” both relatable and funny. “It’s fascinating to witness the team’s creative and structural decisions. Telling a story always comes down to selecting and shaping elements – and creating your own reality.”
Eline: “To me, the play is ultimately about the power of storytelling. It’s one of those performances that stay with you and make you think – even long after it’s over.”
Listen: De erfenis – AudioCollectief SCHIK
“De erfenis weaves together six episodes of deeply human stories about people grappling with the consequences of an inheritance,” Eline explains. She admires the craftsmanship behind it: “the way the makers conduct the interviews, visit the locations people talk about, and turn seemingly ordinary subjects into fascinating stories is impressive.”
For her, the podcast is a masterclass in storytelling. “Using ‘inheritance’ as a theme to connect people who initially seem to have very little in common: it’s such an original approach. It reminds me of content marketing done right – where an overarching concept ties stories together into a compelling whole.”
Finally, De erfenis underlines the value of taking your time to tell a story. “Unlike a one-minute TikTok video, the episodes demand patience and focus from the listener, but the slower pace works – and it’s worth it.”
